MY OC HISTORY

My OC History is the principal educational activity of the Hall Clement Memorial Fund, Inc., a 501c3 charity.  Local history books are published and donated to school and public libraries.  Heywood's most recent book, published in 2018, is The Civil War, Orange County's Connection to Chickamauga.

Published in the Spring of 2017,Woman's Club of Huntington Beach is a well reviewed history of this organization that has accomplished so many good works in the city!  It's available on Amazon or EBay.

Heywood is currently completing a book on the sensational 1947 Overell Murder Trial that for months made the Old Courthouse in Santa Ana the center of attention across the whole country!

Go to the Old Courthouse Museum Society website to see where you can see pictures of the famous Overell trial venue.

The Kiwanis Foundation of Huntington Beach  funded a portion of Mike Heywood’s Walter Knott and Family, Knott's Berry Farm!

Heywood’s well received Thomas B. Talbert, A History of Orange County, Twelve Decades of Extraordinary Change 1889 to 2010 and  Century of Service, A History of Huntington Beach were also published by the support of the Kiwanis Foundation.

Founded in 1961, the Kiwanis Club of Huntington Beach has a solid history of supporting worthy causes not only in the City of Huntington Beach, but throughout the County of Orange.  In recent times, the Club has worked hard to make sure that our men and women heroes who have served our Nation in Iraq and Afghanistan receive an appropriate welcome home.
