My OC History is the principal educational activity of the Hall Clement Memorial Fund, Inc., a 501c3 charity. Local history books are published and donated to school and public libraries. Heywood's most recent book, published in 2018, is The Civil War, Orange County's Connection to Chickamauga.

Heywood is currently completing a book on the sensational 1947 Overell Murder Trial that for months made the Old Courthouse in Santa Ana the center of attention across the whole country!

Founded in 1961, the Kiwanis Club of Huntington Beach has a solid history of supporting worthy causes not only in the City of Huntington Beach, but throughout the County of Orange.
